DEAR USERS OF THE INTERNET,

In January 2012 we defeated the SOPA and PIPA censorship legislation with the largest Internet protest in history. A year ago this month one of that movement’s leaders, Aaron Swartz, tragically passed away.

Today we face a different threat, one that undermines the Internet, and the notion that any of us live in a genuinely free society: mass surveillance.

If Aaron were alive, he’d be on the front lines, fighting against a world in which governments observe, collect, and analyze our every digital action.

Now, on the anniversary of Aaron’s passing, and in celebration of the win against SOPA and PIPA that he helped make possible, we are planning a day of protest against mass surveillance, to take place this February 11th.

=======================================

Are you tired of your human rights being trampled on by our elected representatives?

Do you want to stand for free and open internet?

Perturbed by the inability to act on global climate change?

Are you a journalist/blogger who is concerned about the recent attempt by Representatives Dianne Feinstein, Amy Klobuchar, and Chuck Schumer to limit by law who is considered a journalist?

Are you upset that the #NDAA (National Defence Authorization Act) has been revived yet again, allowing for hundreds of billions in taxpayer money to go to the war machine?

Are you aware that the same NDAA allows for indefinite detention of American citizens under the suspicion of “terrorism”? No trial, no lawyer. Just legalized kidnapping. Both Al Franken and Amy Klobuchar voted in favor of this, by the way.

Or perhaps you are upset that the new Vikings Stadium is being shoved down our throats, even though we never received a referendum as required by law?

If any of these things apply to you, we invite you to show up with us at the state capitol as we air our grievances, hear from speakers, and coordinate where we go from here as Minnesotans.

    The number one issue in the relative is that the Congress gave up sovereignty over new money to the private sector. Thus we have a nation which cannot conduct new business. Dennis Kucinich sponsored a 2010 NEED Act, however this act contains a buyback wording whereas the assets created include trillions a stolen new money, and all of this should be clawed back, not bought back. Other than that, the NEED Act never got out of committee, as our country has been taken over by a government of oligarchs within the government. It is that simple. Kucinich is out, but he left behind the truth, which is a torch needing to be picked up, and carried to the world human rights arena, where the long awaited flame is lighted.
