Schedule For This Weekend @OccupyPeavey

Occupy Minneapolis is excited about another weekend of events at Peavey Plaza in downtown Minneapolis. Join us as we come together for some activism and a little bit of fun!

 

SATURDAY, APRIL 21ST SCHEDULE:

12:00PM – Picnic Lunch (Bring food to share if you can)

3:00PM – Capture The Flag

Capture the flag will be played in Peavey Plaza again.

5-7:00PM – Sign Making (for the march) and Dinner

Create a sign, bring extra materials if you can. Signs can be used in the march later in the evening. Dinner provided in part by WAMM and the efforts of the Food Committee.

7:00PM – Rally & Pamphlet Passing Prior to Sweet Honey @ MN. Orchestra

This time will be spent preparing for the march, along with other individuals that will be passing pamphlets to interested individuals in front of the Minnesota Orchestra.

8:00PM – Whose Streets? Our Streets!

A March standing against corporate greed, money in politics, tax cuts for the rich, & the oppression Occupy Minneapolis is facing from the city of Minneapolis. Make a sign with your message and march with us! Individuals that would like to continue handing out pamphlets promoting the May 1st General Strike are welcome to do so!

9:00PM (or after the march returns) – Jam Session @OccupyPeavey

If you own a musical instrument, bring it down to Peavey and play it while people exit the orchestra hall.

9:00PM – Dance Party for the May 1st General Strike

This dance party is going to be held at Sister’s Camelot to help raise funds for the May 1st General Strike. This event is sponsored in part by the IWW. All are welcome.

SUNDAY, APRIL 22ND SCHEDULE:

12:00PM – Picnic Lunch (Bring food to share if you can)

1:00PM – Jam Session & *Spin Jam

Bring out your musical instruments or invite bands that you know. Play some music, and enjoy watching spinners come out and do their thing. (Spin Jam event subject to change)

2:00PM – Cover The City! (Canvassing for May 1st)

Bring some tape, come and pick up flyers, and cover the city with posters while handing out information for the May 1st General Strike.

5:00PM – Picnic Pot-Luck Dinner

Bring some food to share, and eat with occupiers at Peavey Plaza.

7:00PM – Four Square

No, not Four Square like online, but the old-fashioned ball game… bring your kick-balls down to Peavey Plaza and get your inner-child on. -in fact, why not bring your children if you have some?

    Join us for this dance Informance, a site-specific movement collaboration with Alex Lange, Kimberly Lesik, Stephanie Stoumbelis, Tim Rehborg, Timmy Wagner and Taja Will.

    We gather to ask questions about our place in the movement.
    We gather to respond to the divisions of 99 and 1.
    We gather to OCCUPY our bodies, space and time.

    TWO NIGHTS: Friday and Saturday, April 27 & 28
    Show starts at 8pm
    $7-12 sliding scale
    at MADAME 3401 Chicago Ave So.

    Audience is invited to stay for a talk back after the show both evenings.
